Vosges Haut-Chocolate x etc hotels

Luxury hotels and custom cocoa creations have enjoyed a symbiotic relationship since the birth of the turndown chocolate. For etc hotels With a Net dreamed up more than a bedside amuse-bouche. We conceived and executed a tasty marketing strategy for cross-promoting two major luxury brands. Every recipe was masterfully formulated by celebrated chocolatier and founder of Vosges Haut-Chocolate herself, Katrina Markoff. Like the kids from Willy Wonka, after entering her world, our lives (and our waistlines) were changed forever.

Willy Wonka Would Be Wowed

In celebration of Shutters’ Birthday, With a Net collaborated with Vosges to develop a limited edition truffle collection containing locally sourced ingredients and a little Markoff Magic. Six of the 1000 boxes produced contained certificates for a complimentary night in an ocean view room at Shutters on the Beach. The truffle collections were available exclusively at Shutters, at Vosges boutiques in New York and Chicago (two of the hotel’s key feeder markets) and through the Vosges website — selling out in one month. The kick-off event was a sold-out Vosges Valentine’s Dinner at 1 Pico Restaurant featuring exotic chocolate pairing for each course. This Vosges x Shutters collection was snatched up online within a month and the Shutters Anniversary efforts resulted in key national and international media placement in the NY Post, LA Times, Financial Times and USA Today.

Library of Chocolate

Due to the success of the first Vosges partnership, while branding the third jewel in the ETC Hotels Collection, Canary Santa Barbara, With a Net teamed up once again with the Marvelous Ms. Markoff and her team at Vosges. This time creating a library of chocolate — one bar for each ETC Hotel — Shutters on the Beach, Hotel Casa del Mar and the newest hotel in the flock — Canary Santa Barbara. Each bar incorporated thematic ingredients to suit each property’s individuality. A select few bars also contained certificates for stays at all three of the coveted properties. The bars were sold in each hotel’s mini bars and online through Vosges. Santa Barbara Magazine, C Magazine and multiple regional publications mentioned the partnership. The libraries were also delivered to key travel agents and media to promote the opening of Canary Santa Barbara.
